What is OKIDA.io?

We are a self-publishing webcomic platform that let’s global creators publish their webcomic without any limitations or restrictions. Okida.io gives you multiple monetization options that other platforms cannot afford to do.

How can I make money with Okida?

We have multiple options for creators to make money by publishing their webcomics with us! Even though we are still very new and still implementing these options, these options will be available to all creators at any level.

1 - ZANDI Shards

When you publish your chapter, you will be able to lock it with ZANDI shards, each ZANDI is worth 0.10$, this gives you 0.03$ per Shard. As a creator, you decide how many ZANDI Shards are necessary to unlock your chapters.

2 - Subscriptions

Instead of using ZANDI, creators lock their entire comic behind a paywall of a maximum of 5$ per month. Creator keeps 50% of this monthly subscription. ZANDI Shards and Subscriptions cannot be activated together.

3 - Tipping

Fans can tip their favorite creators directly without a 3rd party platform. They keep 100% of their tips.

4 - Ad Revenues

Once you get to 500 followers, you will be able to activate display ads on your webcomics. Based on traffic and quality of advertisers, the revenue can change from one qualified creator to the other. Creators keep 30% of all ad revenues on their comics.

5 - Sponsors

Creators can decide to transform one of their panels into a digital collectible that their fans can collect as Sponsorships. Once the fan Sponsors the panel, they become the only owner of that moment without owning any IP rights to the comic. Their name will now be shown on the panel as the official Sponsor of the panel. To do this and to confirm ownership, we use the Ethereum Blockchain. The creators receive 90% of this Sponsorship. This is completely optional to the creator. It is extremely important to note that OKIDA.io does NOT transform your comics into Digital Collectibles by default, only the owner and creator of the comic can decide to turn on Sponsorships for a single panel.

You can also Sponsor pages through non-blockchain database. This means that your Panel will not be transformed into a Digital Collectible but will be able to be collected as a Zandi Collectible.
This collectible and it's metadata are hosted through IPFS.

6 - Merch Store

Creators will be able to activate a merch store where fans will be able to buy their favorite merch and memorabilia from comics or creators they love. Creators will also have the option to add purchasable merchandise directly on their comics dynamically, meaning that a character wearing a specific t-shirt can be clickable to go and purchase instantly on the store. This is part of our roadmap and percentages and details are yet to be confirmed.

7 - Become an original Okida.io creator

At any moment, Okida.io can approach you to become an original creator and get paid per chapter or IP. This will all depend on multiple factors that will be confirmed at that moment based on fans interaction, traffic, growth and many other factors.

8 - How do I get paid?

If you have pending commissions, you will be able to select multiple ways of getting paid.

What are the formats I can upload my webcomic?

We have 3 different formats, Vertical Scroll, Left To right scroll or Right To Left scroll. You can read more on each format here:

What are the size uploads for my webcomic?

It is important to keep a 4:6 ratio or 1920x2560 px of size for your uploads. This is the same for all formats, you can create a seamless experience for all three formats by keeping these sizes in mind.

Do I own my comic IP?

Absolutely! Okida.io does not claim ownership rights of your Content. Your Content belongs to you and Okida.io does not restrict you from using your Content for any purpose unless stated in additional terms for other programs or offerings Okida.io may provide. How can my comic appear on the EPIC section?

This is up to both the community and the Okida.io team, we all decide when a webcomic should become an EPIC comic. You can send us a message on Discord if you feel that your webcomic should be EPIC!

What are the creative restrictions that we have on Okida.io?

Zero! You can create any kind of story and upload it to our platform as long as you follow our Publishing Guidelines!

Can I upload nudity or pornographic stories on Okida.io?

Yes! But make sure to select Explicit as the genre, this way we can assure that users are 18 years of age or more to read your comic. This is the only limitation for content uploaded to our platform!
